Day 2 - Ubud
learning from
the locals

Today, we'll explore the many ways the Balinese care for their physical, spiritual, and mental health. From its cuisine to daily offerings and ceremonies, Bali is a destination designed to nurture the whole self and promote well-being.

Renowned for its warm hospitality, you'll get to experience it firsthand by learning about Indonesian cuisine from a local family. Get ready to savor mouthwatering dishes like nasi goreng (fried rice), mie goreng (noodles), satay, martabak pancakes and noodle soup.

Next, we'll delve into the practice of daily offerings before heading out on a jungle trek to a purification ceremony under a secret waterfall. This cleansing ritual is meant to wash away bad spirits and purify the body and soul.

Day 3 - Ubud
IN THE JUNGLE,
The Mighty Jungle

Feeling rejuvenated? Bali is hailed as one of the most relaxing and greenest destinations in the world! And today, you'll get the lay of the land.

We'll be heading out to explore more of this Indonesian island in old-school VW jeeps. Expect to cruise through expansive forests, making a few monkey friends along the way. We'll even have a chance to visit the historic Ubud Palace before heading to our lunch spot, which we fondly call heaven on Earth. With sprawling views of iconic rice fields, this place has more than a few Instagram-worthy angles.

We'll return in the late afternoon, where your evening is free to unwind, explore on your own, or indulge in a relaxing Balinese massage.

Day 4 - Ubud
NAMASTE

We hope you're soaking up some of that "Eat, Pray, Love" energy from this enchanting island.

Today, we’ll delve into the roots—literally—at a farming cooperative, where we'll assist a local chef in preparing lunch with fresh garden ingredients and learn about regenerative agriculture's role in Balinese sustainability.

In keeping with the theme of grounding, we'll spend the afternoon in a guided yoga nidra session to stretch our bodies and wind down.

It's your last night in Ubud before we head to the Gilis early tomorrow, so make it count! Head out with your friends to browse the Ubud markets for trinkets and Balinese products, or enjoy an early dinner at one of the many impressive restaurants.

Day 5 - Gili Trawangan
Floatin' On

Just when you thought it couldn’t get more postcard-perfect—we’re off to the Gilis.

Picture this: turquoise waters, barefoot vibes, and no cars in sight—just bikes, boats, and the occasional horse-drawn cart trotting down a sandy lane. It’s giving tropical daydream.

Tonight’s dinner spot has something for everyone—vegan, veggie, gluten-free, meat-lover, you name it. No matter your vibe, you’ll find something delish. That’s the beauty of Balinese cuisine.

Day 6 - Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno & Gili Air
Island Hoppin’

Grab your sunscreen, sunnies, and go-to boat day playlist—today, we’re hopping aboard a private boat to explore the neighboring gems of Gili Meno and Gili Air, located just east of Gili T. These up-and-coming islands are what tropical daydreams are made of: soft white sands and sparkling turquoise waters.

Along the way, we’ll drop anchor for lunch and make stops for snorkeling at vibrant coral gardens and the famous underwater statues. Keep your eyes peeled for tropical fish and maybe even a sea turtle or two gliding through the crystal-clear water. Whether you’re a seasoned snorkeler or just here to float and soak up the vibes, you’ll be living your best island life.

Expect plenty of laughter, salty hair, and that “how is this real life?” kind of feeling. 🌊

Day 7 - Gili & Uluwatu, Bali
Unreal Uluwatu

We’re saying goodbye to the Gilis and making our way to Uluwatu—a cliffside surf haven and total beach lover’s dream. After catching a ferry and making the journey over, we’ll land in the spot we’ll be calling home for the rest of the trip.

Once we arrive, the afternoon is yours to ease into island time. Think: a slow stroll along Batu Bolong or Echo Beach, a fresh coconut in hand, or a well-earned massage at one of the area’s dreamy (and surprisingly affordable) spas. Seriously—daily massages are a thing here, and we highly recommend treating yourself.

In the evening, we’ll meet back up for dinner at a beachfront spot where toes-in-the-sand is pretty much guaranteed. The food will be delicious, the cocktails tropical, and the company even better. It’s the kind of night where you start to realize just how special this crew really is—and how fast time is flying.

Day 8 - Uluwatu, Bali

Today, we’re headed to one of Bali’s most iconic beach clubs—the place to be when the sun’s out.

You’ll spend the day dipping into crystal-clear water, snapping candids with your new travel besties, and people-watching from a daybed with a coconut mojito in hand. If you weren’t already dreaming about staying forever... this might just be the tipping point.

Uluwatu also happens to be one of the best spots in Bali to catch the sunset, so we highly recommend using your free evening after the beach to take in the golden glow, explore the stunning cliffside surroundings, and grab dinner with your crew.

Day 9 - Uluwatu, Bali
BALI BASK

Indonesia is made up of a staggering 17,800 islands—more than enough to spend a lifetime exploring. And while we’ve done more than just scratch the surface, we hope this trip has shown you just how magical this country really is.

After breakfast, we’ll head to Uluwatu Temple—one of Bali’s most iconic cliffside landmarks. While the island has seen its share of Western influence, Hinduism remains a deeply rooted and revered part of local life. And today, you’ll get to witness it firsthand during a traditional Kecak dance performance.

Tonight, we’ll come together for one final dinner in paradise. The setting will be beautiful, the memories unforgettable, and chances are, the “next trip” will already be a topic at the table.

Day 10 - Bali
BYE TO BALi 👋

From incredible sea life to the captivating spiritual energy, terraced rice fields, and exotic sunsets, you and the crew truly took down Bali and made it your own. Not only did you get to see so much of what makes this island magical, but you’re leaving with something even better—friendships that last way beyond a vacation.

Our travelers love soaking up each other’s company until the very last minute, so don’t be surprised if you end up squeezing in one final breakfast together before everyone heads out. These are the kinds of goodbyes that feel more like “see you laters.”

If you have to jet, we wish you a safe and smooth journey home. But if you’re already in Asia… don’t stop now! There’s so much more of this continent to explore—and we hope this trip gave you the spark to keep going.

FAST FACTS

About Indonesia

Indonesia is a sprawling, heavily populated country with islands that stretch some 3,200 miles across the equator from the Indian Ocean in the west all the way to the Pacific in the east. The nation has a diverse populace with Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, and Islamic influences. While it's full of natural beauty, it’s important to remember that Indonesia faces the same issues as any other country. This is a real place where real people live, and the Instagram version is not always reality.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • Indonesian is the official language.

  • The currency is the Indonesian rupiah (Rp).

  • The dry season runs from April-October and the monsoon season from November-March.

  • Tipping is not mandatory; however, if the service is good, you can leave 10%.

Trip notes

  • While we can't guarantee private rooms in any Bali hotel, you should book your trip earlier if you prefer one, as they usually fill up.

  • We’ll be taking a number of ferries and boat trips, so plan accordingly if you get seasick (Dramamine is your friend!).

  • Indonesia lies directly on the equator; that means it’s usually hot and humid.

  • Most Bali vacation packages head to more touristy Kuta Beach or Seminyak Beach; we purposefully bypass those in search of more authentic secluded paradise.

  • Ensure your passport is valid for 6 months after your return date.

  • All activities are weather dependent; in the unlikely event that we are unable to run an activity, we will have a suitable alternative in place.

  • More information regarding visa requirements and Covid restrictions can be found here.
